Grapevine and Burlap Wreath

I love Make-It Monday!  This GENIUS tutorial was provided by Santeen Creations….and now I have three Christmas gifts on the to-make list.  😉

There is a practical side to me, the part that says 1 wreath to hang for most of the year and decorate as the holidays come and go is perfect.  Not to mention, storing wreaths takes up space.  I’d rather store the smaller wreath decorations, so here is my solution:  The Twig and Burlap Wreath.

If you have any questions, just ask!

What you will need:

1 grapevine wreath – this one is 18″ and was purchased at Hobby Lobby.
1 package burlap with wire – 2.5″ wide (also purchased at Hobby Lobby – 30 ft roll – don’t worry, you won’t use all of it if you decorate parts only.  To do the entire wreath, I would have an extra roll on hand).
1 Hot Glue Gun (always be careful)
Hot glue sticks
Floral Aluminum Wire
Decorations on alligator clips

This project took me about 20 minutes to do.

To Start:

Put glue on the wreath and put your first edge of burlap down.
Bunch your burlap in this pattern.
Remember to glue the base of each bunch down to the wreath.  Continue this for as far as you want, you could even do then entire wreath if you want.  Glue the end down when finished.
Cut a piece of aluminum wire (mine is dark green) and tie it to the top of the back of the wreath.
That’s it!  Your done!
As I do make bows and accessories, I made a couple St. Patrick’s Day Themed items, put them on alligator clips and clipped them on to the burlap bunch  The decorations are easy to remove, easy to store and the wreath is easy to redecorate for any season!
