How did you get started on Etsy?
I got started on Etsy this year in June, I am in school for graphic design and have always wanted to own my own business. I found Etsy through a family member. I thought it would be a great place to start up a business!
What is your inspiration for your shop?
I get my inspiration from things around me in everyday life from nature, fashion, etc.
What is your favorite item from your own shop and why?
My favorite item in my shop at the moment is the Shakespeare quote print, “Though she be but little, she is fierce.” It is my favorite because I love the design in the background and I find it to be perfect for a little girls nursery!
How do you unwind when you’re not creating?
I enjoy taking pictures, after I graduate with my Associates in Graphic Design, I plan on going to school for photography and expanding that love. Also I love to try new food, watch some movies and relax on the couch with my boyfriend!

How would you describe your work style?
My work style is organized and relaxed. I make sure all my designs are carefully organized and try to create something new each day. After my job I come home and promote the shop a little bit before starting new designs.
If you could choose any one superhero power, what would it be and why?
I would chose time travel, I think it would be an amazing thing to be able to travel through time and see how life has changed and will change in the future.
If you knew then what you know now, what would you do differently in opening your shop?
I would have worked on my picture displays better. I am still working on a few! I have definitely learned a lot so far in a short amount of time and look forward to learning and improving more!

How did you get started on Etsy?
As a graphic designer, I have been making my own cards off and on for years. Since it has always been so much fun for me, I decided to focus on it it more and turn it into more than just a hobby.
What is your inspiration for your shop?
I pull inspiration from everything around me – from fashion, nature to architecture.
What is your favorite item from your own shop and why?
My favorite item is the black kitty note card. It’s a drawing of my own cat, Pepper. It’s one of my first designs for the shop, and I just love how it turned out.
How do you unwind when you’re not creating?
I love knitting, movies, food and hiking.

How would you describe your work style?
I am pretty organized – so I make time each day to try and work on new designs, or at least doodling and sketching ideas – then balance out time for all the other things that the shop needs!
If you could choose any one superhero power, what would it be and why?
The ability to fly because that would be so awesome!
If you knew then what you know now, what would you do differently in opening your shop?
I think I would have worked harder on my photos and styling, rather than rushing through. I am still in my first year and still learning so much!

How did you get started on Etsy?
I learned to crochet right after my daughter was born. My mom told me she wanted to make a crochet edge on a blanket, but didn’t know how. So, she told me I needed to learn, then teach her. Not long after the basics, I wanted to make hats, so I did! I was told my hats were good, and that I should sell them, so here I am!
What is your inspiration for your shop?
I am inspired by everything. Weird patterns, clothing, movies, TV, my goofy child, everything and anything inspires me.
What is your favorite item from your own shop and why?
When my dad was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, he started chemo in Sept of ’10, and it was supposed to last until March of ’11. He started losing all of his hair, and complained about it. So, I made him TONS of hats, he only wore one. The reason I made so many was because he hated them all. I tried cotton, acrylic, wool, blends, crazy bamboo yarn, he hated them all. I couldn’t get the sizing right, the shape. I spent so much time making him the perfect hat for this simple guy who just wanted a plain, non-itchy, navy blue hat to match his work uniform. I spent weeks and weeks making hat after hat, for him to tell me it wasn’t right. After I finally made the perfect hat, it’s the only one he wore. After he passed, I wanted to make a line of hats for him- The Simple Man Beanies are made after Dad’s “perfect” hat.
How do you unwind when you’re not creating?
I really like to watch movies, usually of the horror genre. I also enjoy random TV show binges- whatever Netflix tells me I might like. I also like to cook, and bake- usually with the kiddo as my “assistant”.

How would you describe your work style? Chaotic. I don’t keep to any one theme, or style. I feel like I have something for everyone.
If you could choose any one superhero power, what would it be and why?
Telekinesis, I could epic multitask. Crochet, cook dinner, clean the house, all at the same time!
If you knew then what you know now, what would you do differently in opening your shop? I would read and learn sooo much more than I did. I spent weeks reading how-tos, and “How I made my first 100 sales in a month” stories, and felt like I was ready when I opened my shop. I would have spent more time learning social media. Also, I would have bought more shipping materials!
